Priyanka graduated with an LLB degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2014.
She worked at Ismail and Dahya Attorneys in the Debt Collection and Debt Review Department for 6 months. During her time at Ismail and Dahya Attorneys her skills included management of collections on client’s accounts where clients were going under Administration. Within the Debt Counselling space she assisted clients to restructure their debts in terms of debt re-arrangement and consolidation of debts. She also assisted in payment allocations and liaising with the payment distribution agencies.
She further managed collections where clients had committed to a payment arrangement. She ensured that arrangements were effectively monitored through the collections process.
She joined Chiba Attorneys in April 2015. She attends to Criminal Litigation, High Court and Magistrates Court litigation on behalf clients. Such instructions include eviction applications, motor vehicle accident claims, damages claims, breach of contract claims, and urgent applications.
She also attends to labour court litigation on behalf of their clients including review applications and urgent applications. Inclusive of this is attending to representing clients at the CCMA including both conciliations and arbitration hearings. She also assists in different sectors at the respective bargaining councils. This includes arbitration representation at the Dispute Resolution Centre, Road Freight Bargaining Council, Restaurant Catering an Allied Trade Bargaining Council, The Department of Labour, The ELRC, GPSSBC etc.
