Javnika graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a post graduate LLB degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2008.

She worked at Nedbank in Administration Orders, Debt Counselling and Legal Collections and Arrangements department from 2008 until 2013.

During her time at Nedbank her skills included management of collections on clients accounts where clients were going under Administration. Her functions included managing a portfolio without a workflow system, SLA Management, instructing attorneys based on legal collections strategy, monitoring collections progress on matters within her portfolio, process reengineering, fraud prevention and detection, and resolving customer issues and complaints. Within the Debt Counselling space she assisted clients to restructure their debts in terms of debt re-arrangement and consolidation of debts. She also assisted in the creation of the processes involved in Debt Counselling.

Within the Legal Collections and Arrangements area she was involved in managing the Legal collections process where all internal collection avenues had failed. She managed SLA’s with third parties, ensuring that third party payments are received and allocated and ensuring that third party invoices are paid. She further managed collections on a portfolio of R90 million where clients had committed to a payment arrangement. She ensured that arrangements were effectively monitored and that defaulting matters were moved to the next step in the collections process. She also analysed monthly collections and identified potential process and policy changes that could lead to increased collections success.

During her time at Chiba Attorneys she has attended to High Court and Magistrates Court litigation on behalf clients, including eviction applications, motor vehicle accident claims, damages claims, breach of contract claims, and urgent applications.

She also attends to labour court litigation on behalf of their clients including review applications and urgent applications. Inclusive of this is attending to representing clients at the CCMA including both conciliations and arbitration hearings. She also assists in different sectors at the respective bargaining councils. This includes arbitration representation at the Dispute Resolution Centre, Road Freight Bargaining Council, Restaurant Catering and Allied Trade Bargaining Council, The Department of Labour, The ELRC, GPSSBC etc.

Javnika currently holds the position of Associate at Chiba Attorneys.
